Provide supervisory backup to Assignment Desk Manager. Take responsibility for all elements of story planning. Responsible for special projects planning from initiation to completion. Assist with scheduling and story planning execution. Develop, implement, and execute daily phone beat checks to police and fire agencies. Develop and maintain strong working relationship with temporary news photographers-stringers to ensure that all desired spot news video is obtained and that proper news judgment is utilized. Able to marshal resources and staff when major news is breaking. Maintain liaison with producers regarding story development and completed assignments. Book and coordinate satellite times for SNG vehicles and tune in and receive live shots/feeds from microwave, Bureaus, network, and others.
